Grab Bag of NM Probate and Estate Topics

Overview:

This course is designed as an overview of the New Mexico probate administration process, in general, with an emphasis on those sections of the New Mexico Uniform Probate Code that are pertinent to the title insurance industry.  The course has an objective of educating the agents on, among other topics, (1) the different types of probate administrations (including a discussion of the types of pleadings commonly utilized by attorneys in the State), (2) the role/authority/duties of personal representatives, (3) the concerns associated with Estate creditors, (4) homestead affidavits, and (5) recommended steps for avoiding common pitfalls.
